News from Lions Park School
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
We are excited to celebrate Kindness Week at Lions Park next week. There are things students can wear certain days of the week to raise awareness of the messages. Information on what to wear each day is below. As part of this week, we will be helping students to focus on being kind to one another. Students will have the opportunity to create a Valentine card for a nursing home resident. We will create a tree of hearts that contain student thoughts about peace, love and kindness. We will challenge students to complete ten kind deeds from a list of ideas. One day students will go to all different rooms in the school to hear a teacher read a book with messages of acceptance, kindness and friendship with students from other grades. In addition, there will be brief videos shown in the lunchroom and students will be having classroom discussions.
We ask for your continued cooperation in maintaining a safe and orderly drop off and pick up from school. Please keep in mind that stopping to drop off children anywhere other than at the curb is an unsafe practice and causes traffic to get backed up. This can then cause other drivers to become frustrated and drive erratically. Our students learn from the behaviors that are modeled by the adults around them. It is important that safety, respect and responsibility are what our students see, if those are the behaviors we wish the children to display.
Lions Park is now on Twitter and Instagram. Please follow us on one or both!
