Clear Horizons Coyote Update

Week of October 7, 2019

DINE OUT TO DONATE TODAY!

The Clear Creek Education Foundation is hosting its sixth annual “Dine Out to Donate” today, Monday, October 7th. The process is simple! Citizens enjoy a meal at any time of the day at any of the participating restaurants, and in return the restaurant will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Education Foundation to benefit the students & teachers of Clear Creek ISD.

A link to the Clear Creek Education Foundation's website is below, along with the list of contributing restaurants. Please plan to participate, as the Education Foundation is the organization that underwrites the cost of attendance, tuition, and books for our students to earn a free Associate's Degree at San Jacinto College.

You can purchase a meal in any amount at any of the locations. You can vote for Clear Horizons as many times as you like by using a unique e-mail address for each coupon at the restaurant. All of our students have an email address with Clear Creek ISD and with San Jacinto College. Adding a personal email address will give three votes for each of our students who participates. Please show your appreciation for the Education Foundation's sustained generosity to Clear Horizons by participating TODAY in Dine Out to Donate!

CLASS OF 2023: Freshman Service Learning Spotlight

Many thanks to our fabulous freshmen and teachers for their recent volunteer efforts at the Houston Food Bank. Their contributions included sorting food, repacking dry food into family-sized bags, and stocking the Portwall Pantry. The Houston Food Bank is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Volunteers are essential to helping sort, pack, and redistribute the donated food to our community. Thank you, Freshmen!

CORE VALUES: Oath of Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is an essential component to student success. The ability to convey original thought and properly attribute the ideas of others are skills needed for both school and work. Academic integrity is tightly aligned with our district's Core Values. It involves acting honestly while displaying fairness, respect, responsibility, and trustworthiness. Clear Creek ISD is taking steps to support academic integrity in our routine testing procedures on campus.

The school district is implementing a new Oath of Academic Integrity for every major exam and major project given at the high school level. The process will be launched with our First Nine Weeks Exams. Students will be expected to read and sign the Oath before answering test questions. The wording in the Oath has been standardized for all seven high schools in Clear Creek ISD. Attached below is a copy for your review.
