Just The Facts: Updated Attendance Policy
For students in Fulton County Schools to learn and achieve to their fullest potential, it is critical they attend school and are engaged in the learning process. Student absences, whether excused or unexcused, impact a child’s ability to succeed in school.
FCS has implemented a new attendance notification process. Parents/guardians will be notified more often on absences, regardless of whether a student is excused or unexcused. Families will be notified of student absences via daily robocalls, emails, and texts. Students who accumulate multiple absences will receive letters to notify them of missed learning time, and staff will follow up with supportive strategies for families and students.
Elementary School students’ attendance is taken within the first hour of the instructional day to record who is physically present. Students must be present for half of the instructional day to be marked present for the day. Elementary attendance messages begin going out around 10:45 a.m. on the day of the absence.
Middle and High School students’ attendance is taken each period. Students must be present for 50% or more of the day to be marked present. Middle/High School messages begin going out around 4:30 p.m. on the day of the absence.
If a parent needs to excuse a student from attendance, notify the child’s school as soon as possible. The following must be included in a written note or email:
- Student Name
- Student FCS ID Number (lunch number)
- Parent/Guardian Name
- Parent/Guardian Email & Phone Number
- Reason for Excuse
Parents/guardians can monitor their child’s attendance using Infinite Campus. More detailed information about our attendance policy can be found here.

COVID FAQ's for Fulton County Schools
Student COVID-19 report portal updates
The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an on-line portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases. The portal has been updated for Spanish, Korean, and Chinese. FCS parent/guardians will find a dropdown at the top right for translations. www.fultonschools.org/ReportCOVID Please make a report to the FCBOH when your student is COVID-19 positive, has a pending COVID-19 test result, or has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person. Also, please use this resource for official reporting rather than alerting the school and/or teacher. If you must engage the school/teacher, please do so after you have made an official report to the FCBOH. Lastly, to ensure the protection of our school community, please do not allow your child to attend school or school-sponsored events when he/she is ill and/or has any of the above COVID-19 concerns.

Join the PTA Now!
Hello Parents and Staff,
PTA Membership is now open! Go to the Store and Forms tab in Membership Toolkit, and then to the Membership Store!
Why join PTA? We'll tell you . . .
🎉 PTA Membership and dues support your child/students by funding essential educational and curriculum needs, advocating on behalf of children and educators at the local, state, and national levels, and building an inclusive school community for all families. We invite you to join the TRMS PTA for your child because increasing our membership—even by one—makes it possible to provide important educational resources, speak up on important issues, and create a stronger school community . . . and a rather FUN school community too! Take a look at a few of the PTA highlights from just last year! 🎉
Parents, we ask that you join at least at the Silver Level if you are able to because that amount is how much our activities, events, and sponsorship costs per student per year.

Shout Outs for Staff Members
Ms. Kang: Fulton school staff, Min Jeong Kang is so amazing! She's been so helpful for my children and our family to adjust to this new school, TMS and CHS. She always answers all our call and email assisting all the questions we might have. The website link she created for foreign students that translates all the school official documents to Korean language was very helpful. Her kindness eased all the anxiety and fear new students might have and she made this new school to be like our new home. We want to say BIG Thank you to Ms. Kang!!!
Mr. Hubert: My daughter has an anxiety disorder and school is a really hard place for her. Mr. Hubert has been amazing with her. He provided confidence building activities early on and really built a strong foundation for her in his classroom. He continues to support her in the ways that perfectly fit her needs. He’s really a wonderful and compassionate teacher that goes out of his way for his students. I’m very impressed by him and my daughter is learning so much because of how great he teaches. I’m very happy that we are with him this year, as he provides such a great environment for my daughter in his class and she can’t wait for his class everyday. Thank you!
Mr. Tyo: My daughter has a hard time approaching teachers and asking for help; anxiety that gets in the way of talking. Mr. Tyo has been teaching the class how to use sign language, on top of his regular subject. So, she can sign to him when she has a need. This is very helpful and I wish it were its own class. I appreciate him for adding something extra, and so helpful in our case. Thank you!
