College and Career Readiness : February Issue
Harmony School of Excellence T-STEM Grant
The purpose of this grant is to provide a strong support system for students as they begin their transition to high school. This grant will be dedicated to the STEM and College Readiness Program at HSE.
As part of the detailed planning, HSE will initiate Dual Credit classes at our campus taught by ACC professors. We will also be offering ACC-CTE Web Developer Specialist Level I Certificate, and launch PLTW Biomedical Sciences pathway for the 2018-2019 school year! Please see below for details.

ACC- CTE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
This certification program allows students to find an entry job in this area! The first 2 classes will be articulated with ACC curriculum and taught at HSE. The last 2 will be taught at ACC with college professors.

PARENT - TEACHER CONFERENCE
Dear parents,
We wanted to remind you that this Thursday, March 1st we will have parent teacher conferences from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at our school. This is also an early dismissal day, so please pick up students at 12:30 pm. We will also hold an 8th grade High School Transition information night that same Thursday at 5:15 pm in the cafeteria.
Please don't forget to stop by "Counselor Booth" in the gym to fill out the course selection forms for next school year.
8th GRADE PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
Please join us on March 1st at 5:15 pm for a Parent Information Night!
We will cover important information about your child's transition from middle school to high school. Also, we will discuss and explain our free college classes offered at our school and at ACC, college entrance exams and the class offerings we will have on their high school years.

COLLEGE AND CAREER AWARENESS
CRLP Texas A&M University Aggieland Saturday Visit
HSE CRLP Students were at Texas A&M University to join Aggieland Saturday, an annual campus-wide open house the last Saturday, Feb 10th.
Our student had an opportunity to meet current students and our alumni, to learn more about our colleges and majors, got information about admission, financial aid, scholarships, etc. and some promotional items.
We also had taken a guided tour and seen the beautiful sites on the A&M Campus, enjoyed the performance of Corps of Cadets and had wonderful dining.
Thanks to our Engagement Coordinator Mr. Ozguven and CRLP mentors!

Biomedical club hosted the second CPR/First Aid training by HOPEcpr for interested students and staff.
