Monthly Club Meeting Topic - Teamwork
Learning about group dynamics is important to team success. Problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution are only a few of a variety of life skills learned in group dynamics. Working together in a group to solve a problem also develops decision making and consensus building.
We will learn about and practice teamwork skills at this month’s 4-H club meetings. A fun activity will get members interacting and participating as a true team.

4-H Jr. Leader Club
by Andrew Courville, Reporter
The Vermilion Parish 4-H Junior Leader Club held its monthly meeting on Thursday, October 13th. The 47 members in attendance learned a little about the Louisiana crawfish industry, but the focus of this month’s meeting was preparing the 4-H barn for the Fall Fest fundraiser, which took place on Sunday, October 16th.
Hundreds of families visited the 4-H barn to enjoy Fall Fest. Children got candy by playing carnival games like bowling and mini golf. One could also paint pumpkins, have fun on the train rides, or risk going through the spooky maze. You could bond with all the farm animals at the petting zoo, and learn about cool reptiles and amphibians with LARE. A variety of crafts were sold by 14 vendors. The event was staffed by 70 4-H Jr. Leader members as well as adult volunteers. The Vermilion Parish 4-H Program would like to express its gratitude to the over 700 people who came to Fall Fest to have some fun and support the 4-H Youth Development Program.

We will reference this theme throughout the year and give a special spotlight to it at our 4-H Achievement Day in March. Rene Rost Middle School will be invited to help decorate a backdrop and build spirit using the theme throughout the day.
