Lewis Latimer
Latimer was a member of Edison's group of inventors, called the Edison Pioneers, which the members of it invented new things to help people.
Latimer edited the light bulb, so it could burn for a longer period of time than Edison's old designs did, which made the light bulb more useful than it used to be,
Lewis Howard Latimer was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on September 4th, 1848 He had 4 older siblings. He died in Flushing, Queens, New York.
Latimer didn't have to face against slavery, since he was born to parents who had already fled from it long before he was born.
Latimer published a book about Electricity, called Incandescent Electric Lighting, which had lots of information about electricity in it.
