Dear Andrews Family

What an amazing week! Our students have been actively engaged in a myriad of learning opportunities, and hundreds of Andrews families came on Tuesday evening to enjoy our 14th Annual Multicultural Night. We are so proud of our third graders for their outstanding musical performance! I also want to thank all of the students and families who contributed to this meaningful event by participating in the flag parade or creating one of the beautiful cultural displays.

We definitely want to thank our PTA and Andrews staff for all of their hard work that contributed to such a fun and successful evening. Multicultural Night would not remain such a special tradition after all these years without the dedication, time and efforts invested by so many parents, staff and community members. We are indeed blessed to be part of a community that immensely appreciates and celebrates cultural diversity.

As we look forward to next week, please remember to RSVP to your child's homeroom teacher by Wednesday, February 10th at 12:00 PM if you plan to volunteer at your child's classroom friendship party on February 12th (a cleared volunteer background check is required). Having an RSVP list ahead of time will enable us to expedite the office check-in process for you on Friday afternoon.

Enjoy the weekend!

2014-2015 School Report Card

The State of Texas 2014-2015 School Report Card for Andrews Elementary has now been released and posted to the Andrews website -

This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. The information contained in the School Report Card is required by state law and is briefly described in the “School Report Card Definitions.”

If you have any questions concerning the School Report Card, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support of Andrews Elementary.

Plano ISD - Parental Engagement Survey

There are many ways in which parents may be involved in the education of their child. Extensive research has shown that activities such as reading, communicating with the child, and setting expectations have the largest effect on student achievement. Other forms of parental involvement, such as attendance and participation in school functions, also contribute positively to achievement in school.

This Parental Engagement Survey will help us understand some of the ways in which parents are engaged in the education of their child. This information will also guide us in providing support to the parents in our community.

With the 2015-2016 school year in mind, please take a moment to answer this brief survey.

Thank you for your participation!
