A Brief Bit About Divergent

Divergent is about the popular trend of Dystopian worlds. A girl named Beatrice lives in one of these worlds. Beatrice has to make a choice that could change her whole life: her friends, her family, how she lives, what she eats, even, in her case, what her name is. Will she choose to keep everything in her life the same, or will she choose to change all of her life?

Like most Dystopian books the world is divided into groups of people; which in this case are factions. There are five factions, and then there are the factionless, those who fail the initiation, don't decide their faction, or chose to be factionless; the most common is failing the initiation.

Being without a faction means not having a home, living on the streets. It is the most horrible thing that can happen to you. Most people would chose dying over being factionless.

The five factions are Abegnation; the selfless, which Beatrice and her family, consisting of her mother, her father, and her brother, live in, Candor; the honest, Amity; the peaceful, Erudite; the inelegant, and lastly Dauntless; the brave.
