Volcanic eruptions

Describe the pyroclastic material and magma

The fragments of rocks that form during an eruption.

What is pyroclastic material? Pyroclastic is When the magma breaks into fragments. While rapidly expanding gases during the eruption. There are different types of pyroclastic in size and texture, volcanic ash , volcanic dust and volcanic blocks.

Different types of pyroclastic material

Different mafic lava types

Lava flow

When lava is mafic, it means its low on viscosity. Mafic also means that it has magnesium and iron in it. To get different magma flows it depends on how low or high the viscosity is in the magma. Great example for these types of flows are the pahoehoe, Aa and the blocky lava. They all have different amount of viscosity in them.
