Welcome to the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary & St Matthew
The Spirit prepares the faithful with a grace that draws them closer to Christ, reveals the Risen Lord to them, and recalls the Word of God — opening their hearts and minds to understand these teachings so they may be embraced, lived, and brought to others.
Pope Francis Monthly Intention: Families
We pray for Christian families around the world; may they embody and experience unconditional love and advance in holiness in their daily lives
Come Holy Spirit,
fill our hearts with your love,
breath within us new life.
Fill us, guide us, teach us,
empower us,
to work joyfully and faithfully
in bringing the Good News to all.

Annual Community Dinner - A Call to Solidarity
The Youth Office is excited to be hosting their annual Community Dinner for those doing it tough and experiencing homelessness, this June. This event provides an opportunity to both build friendship with our struggling brothers and sisters and also meet some of their basic needs.
We are seeking donations to be able to provide bundles of warm essentials including:
New toiletries such as toothbrush + toothpaste, razors, soap, travel size shampoo + conditioner, feminine hygiene products, deodorant and combs.
Warm jackets and jumpers, new socks, sneakers.
Sleeping bags, thick blankets (we are unable to accept electric blankets)
Dog/ pet food (many of our friends have pets that they desperately want to keep alive)
We will be cooking a three course dinner for the day. We are hoping to cook a delicious roast and some big hams. If you have a roast hiding away in your freezer and would be willing to donate it toward the dinner please contact Danielle at daniellem@cdh.org.nz
All donations can be dropped off to the Chanel Centre, 51 Grey St, Hamilton East.

Marian Catholic School Welfare Fund
At Marian Catholic School we have a fund to support families. Our community like many others has been affected by Covid and recent increases to our cost of living, leaving some families needing a little extra support to meet their daily needs.
We use this fund for many things, including: help with uniforms, paying for stationery, school camps and school lunches.
If you are able or would like to contribute to this Welfare Fund for Marian School we would really appreciate your generosity.

Lifeteen Retreat 24 June - 26 June
Our Lifeteen Retreat is fast approaching! Our theme, Discovery will allow teens to discover where they are at with their faith right now, and inspire them to go further into the great unknown, which is a life with Jesus. The weekend will be one of the biggest highlights of Life Teen in 2022, and we're hoping to have as many of our youth attend as possible. For more info, email us at youth@hamcathedral.co.nz

We pray for the Ukraine...
Holy and Gracious God
We pray for the people of the Ukraine, for their country and their leader.
We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness.
We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace.
We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ.
Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace in Ukraine.
And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son.
Lord have mercy.
Amen
