  • Rolls of Masking Tape
  • notebook paper
  • clear tape
  • colored printer paper
  • colored pencils

Social Studies

This week we will finish the Age of Exploration. We will have our test on September 23.

Science

In Science, we will complete our activities with speed, velocity, and acceleration. Starting Tuesday, we will read and analyze motion graphs. Then, we have a lab at the end of the week using all the concepts we have learned in the past two weeks. The students will have a quiz on Friday, Oct.23, which will include: Frame of Reference, Speed, Velocity, Acceleration, and Reading/Analyzing graphs. Everything they need to study can be found in their Science notebook.

Language Arts

In Language Arts, we are starting to read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We will be doing some reading in class, and some at home. Next week, our focus will be on setting, historical context, and characterization

Math 7

We've finished up operations with integers. Now we are applying what we have learned to simplifying expressions and word problems with integers this week! Please make sure that your student is participating in the "you're the teacher" question on their homework. They should be teaching you, a sibling, a grandparent, or friend, etc. a concept they learned that day. There is a place for the "student" to write a short reflection. Many students are coming to class with this incomplete. Thank you!

Math 1

This week we will be reviewing solving and graphing inequalities. Then we will begin functions. Students will be assigned their first TenMarks assignment. This is a website that offers online practice aligned with the Math 1 curriculum. They will be given time both inside and outside of class to complete. An inequalities quiz will be on Wednesday.
