Tonight our football team will be competing against GHS in the annual Battle for the Red Rail. We look forward to seeing as many CHHS supporters and fans as possible. Please remember that we are the visiting team this year so help us fill the bleachers. We ask that you remind our students about the joy of competition and great sportsmanship. It's going to be a GREAT game!
We are concluding the second week of school and I am very proud of what I have observed thus far. We are blessed to have great students and teachers. Our campus is focused on EXCELLENCE in all that we do. Our teachers are focusing their instruction around the GCISD Portrait of a Graduate. These 5 characteristics include: Effective Communicator, Collaborative Worker, Skilled Problem Solver, Self Regulated Learner, and how to be a Global Citizen. These five skills will help prepare our students for college and the job market.
Thank you,
Conrad Streeter

Pitch in for Panther$
CHHS PTSA needs your help to raise funds, because the PTSA funds support all our Panthers! The main way PTSA does that is through our one-time-a-year donation campaign, “Pitch in for Panther$.” Thanks to the generosity of parents at Residency Verification, we’ve already raised $6,040 of our $10,000 goal! Thank you to all who donated! If you haven’t yet, look for another chance to donate to the Pitch in For Panther$ campaign at Open House on Monday, Sept. 14 to help us reach our goal! Click here to see how much we've raised so far! For information on the many programs PTSA supports at CHHS, how to donate online, or company match donations, go to www.chhsptsa.org. Students can also help PTSA reach our goal by volunteering at Open House as part of the Pitch in for Panther$ campaign. Students need to be at CHHS from 5-8 p.m. to help pass out and gather envelopes from parents at school exits. Students are encouraged to sign up with a friend. They’ll be given 3 volunteer hours and refreshments afterward. Sign them up at this Sign Up Genius link: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/8050B49ACAF292-pitch.

Grapefest Volunteers Needed
Calling all CHHS students, parents: PTSA has a great opportunity to participate in our community and raise money for our school! Have a great time volunteering at the gates taking tickets with your son or daughter at GrapeFest, Sept. 17-20. The City of Grapevine gives PTSA a donation for each volunteer hour we work. There are only a few shifts left. Students should bring their volunteer cards for community service hours and all volunteers get in free after their shift. To sign up, click on the link below. (The password is texas.) http://grapevinecvb.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=9602
Any CHHS student or parent who has already signed up to volunteer (with any CHHS organization) can attend the Grapefest Volunteer Training Session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 in the Lecture Hall. This quick meeting will be led by Grapefest facilitators.
SAT Boot Camp
If your Junior or Senior is taking the SAT this fall, don’t miss this SAT Boot Camp from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Compass Center. The fee includes all materials and books. To register, go to www.testprepseminars.org, click on the Register tab and put in colleyville for the school code. How to Pay for College Without Going Broke
Join CHHS PTSA Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall for a parent program that will save you money on your children’s college expenses. After a short General Meeting, college financial planner Doug Bryan of Ducerus will give you concrete information about how to send your child to 4-year schools you never thought you could afford. This workshop is mainly intended for parents of freshmen, sophomore and juniors. Get more info at chhsptsa.org or email Robyn Schmidt at krkcschmidt@gmail.com.
