What's New This Week?

Colonial Costumes

Colonial Day oral presentations will begin in class on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 15-16th. Colonial Days is on Thursday, December 17th. Students are required to wear their costumes, and bring their props, for both their oral presentation and Colonial Days.

Colonial Days Donations Still Needed!

National Science Competition for Grades 4-6

Toshiba and the National Science Teachers Association are sponsoring a national science competition, partly at the elementary school level. A school in Virginia won it last year, for grades 4-6.

December 18th - Deadline for Two AR Quizzes

Reminder, all fourth grade students are expected to take, and pass, a minimum of two Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes each month from books they've read within their individual book level ranges. December 18th is the deadline for this month.


All AR quizzes are to be taken at school. The AR quizzes grade averages will be inputted in the electronic grade book at the end of each month.

Community Service Opportunity

Toys for Tots Drive - Dec. 1-9

Bring in a new, unwrapped toy to donate to a needy child. Be sure that the toy is not on a recall list. Gifts should be placed in a special gift box located in each teacher's classroom.


One gift equals one hour of Student Community Service. A maximum of two hours of Community Service can be earned.
