Galveston ISD's E3 Employee of the Month

Galveston ISD is proud to announce May’s E3 Employee of the Month, Maggie Queen, Magnet Coordinator at Burnet Elementary STREAM Magnet.


Queen came to Galveston ISD to “teach by the beach” in 2018 as an Algebra I teacher and CLF and has been in her current role of Magnet Coordinator at Burnet for two school years. To read more, click the link HERE.

Moody Early Childhood Center (MECC) hosted a drive-thru graduation for its preschoolers on May 27. Staff celebrated with signs, balloons, bubbles, and other festivities as they handed out diplomas.

P-EBT Food Benefits for Families

Apply for for Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) to receive help with food costs for your family. All Galveston ISD students are eligible. Applications open at yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT (application link is case-sensitive) on June 2, 2021.


P-EBT provides food benefits to families with enrolled students (up to 21 years of age) who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals for the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All Galveston ISD students are eligible because GISD is a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) district that offers free meals to all students. The deadline to apply is August 13, 2021
