Bringing the World Into the Classroom and YOU Into the World
You may have noticed a :30 second commercial now running on KTTC. It is incredibly challenging to take all of the amazing opportunities RPS offers to our students and families and condense it into 30 high-impact seconds. This particular commercial was inspired by our secondary course catalog (see the next story below, Planning for the Future, for more information). We plan to continue promoting our district through the use of video in social media, our new website (coming soon!), and with the use of local media advertising.

Planning for the Future
It's that time of year where our current 8th - 11th grade students are considering which courses they will take next fall. Our students will receive registration support from our school counselors and registrars when making decisions. There are so many choices for our students. RPS is bringing the world into the classroom and preparing our students for the world.
Our course catalog is available online and we thought, "Why not share this with our whole community so they can view the incredible options we offer to our students?"
We invite you to explore RPS's HS Course Catalog:

'Tis the Season of Giving
Many of our schools participated in acts of giving during the month of December. The RPS Facebook Page (@ISD535) contains stories from across our district, including videos and photos. Give it a look...if you don't have Facebook but still want to see these updates just visit our staff intranet (http://535net.rochester.k12.mn.us:8080/main.jsp) to view our Facebook feed.
Here's a sample of our Facebook post on Friday, December 21. It was a popular post - reaching more than 22,000 people.
