Teacher Appreciation Week
During Teacher Appreciation Week, we invite you to send a digital card to a Hocker Grove teacher or other staff member that has made a difference in your student's life.
To send a card, fill out the form, include the staff member's email address, and a note from you will be sent to their email inbox.
MacBook Collection Dates
As we approach the end of the year, we look ahead to the collection of student MacBooks. The schedule below will be our dates when students will need to turn in their devices. Students are encouraged to start doing a self-inspection of their devices in anticipation of the turn-in by doing some pre-cleaning including any stickers or decorations and making sure they have their charger ready to be turned in.
- Tuesday, May 10 – Eagle Hour presentation on how to save your files
- Friday, May 13
- 7th grade – clean & inspect
- Team 8.1 – clean & inspect
- Monday, May 16
- 7th grade – collect
- Teams 8.2 and 8.3 – clean & inspect

Upcoming Transition Day Plans
The agenda for Eighth Graders on Thursday is as follows:
- 9:45-11:00- Pep assembly in the fieldhouse
- 11:00-12:20 Rotations of lunch in rose garden/ Activities in the stadium.
- 12:20-1:30 Presentation in the fieldhouse
Seventh grade students will remain in the building on this day following their normal schedule. In some cases, we will have a different teacher covering a classroom in order to have adequate supervision for 6th Grade Olympics and the 8th Grade trip to North.

Section 2: Previously Shared But Still Relevant
Parent Report of Student Technology Usage
Parent Portal is a service that Shawnee Mission Schools provides for families through Lightspeed. To register, parents should go to Skyward. An online form is available to register for this district provided service. Once the form is completed, parents will receive an email to provide access to the parent portal website. Parents can then have the capabilities to pause internet access and also use the service to receive weekly updates of student web activity.

Financial assistance applications can be found through the SM North's Scholarship Fund at https://www.headednorth.org/
Registration forms can be turned into the main office at SM North or turned in to the coach on the first day of camp.

School-based Health Partnership Clinic
Health Partnership Clinic has moved from Merriam Park to SMWest. It will be open Sept 2nd to serve all SMSD students and their siblings on Thursdays from 11am-3pm. Please see the flyers below in English/Spanish for more info. This is THE ONLY school based health clinic in Johnson County and we want to be sure our students to benefit from it.
