Principal's Message!
Dear Wilson Focus Families and Friends,
Thank you to each and every family for your support for the start of our 2022-23 school year. All of your children have been shining stars each day. Our teachers are teaching all day and planning several breaks for your children. It has certainly been confirmed that we chose the appropriate theme for our 22-23 school year.
Lights, ACTION, Camera...LEARN!
We continue to make the safety of all our students and staff a top priority. We have frequent hand washing/sanitizing and cleaning of high traffic areas in our building. Our students and staff are doing a FANTASTIC job keeping each other safe.
Arrival: We are requesting that if you are dropping off your child, you enter the west entrance and make a quick right into the parking lot for drop off. This allows your child to exit close to a sidewalk and join the line for breakfast.
It is important to not arrive until after 7:35 a.m. as there is no staff on supervision duty and to insure the safety of your child.
Buses: If your child normally rides the bus home and you want to pick them up at 3:30 p.m. it is critical that you call the office by 3:00 p.m. for us to make the switch from bus to parent pick up. Students will be placed on the bus unless we have a parent phone call. This is for the safety of your child.
Enrichment begins Tuesday, September 13th. Watch the school calendar carefully for any Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday we do not have Enrichment. School ends at 4:30 p.m. on Enrichment days. Calendar link below!
Family Census Information Packet—Please return to school immediately upon completion, please correct or add any necessary information and return to school. It is very important that we have an emergency number should your child become ill or get injured here at school. The health information form should be completed with any changes that have occurred over the summer regarding immunizations, etc. This can also be updated online.
Feel free to reach out to me at any time, Luann.jacobs@ops.org or (531) 299-2260.

Health Screenings
Students enrolled in Omaha Public Schools are provided free health screening in accordance with Nebraska State Statute. Screenings are conducted throughout the school year and may begin as early as August.
Students in early childhood, kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, seventh, and tenth grades are screened for hearing, vision, dental, height, and weight per the rules and regulations set forth by the state of Nebraska. The screening is conducted to help identify health concerns in as early a stage as possible, in an effort to enhance learning. Screening is not intended to be diagnostic, but to identify students with potential problems. Findings that need further evaluation by a health care provider will be sent home.
Contact your school nurse for any questions regarding screening.
