Week 30
This week, we will have college colors on April 6th. Please come dressed in your favorite college attire.

Texas History
We will identify the impact of various issues and events on life in Texas such as urbanization, increased use of oil and gas, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and World War II.
Science
We will demonstrate that some likenesses between parents and offspring are inherited, while other likenesses are learned. We will also explore how adaptations enable organisms to survive in their environment.
Math
We will use and represent strategies and algorithms, including array models, area models, partial products and the standard U.S. algorithm to solve 4-by-1 multiplication and 2-by-2 multiplication context problems.
We will represent the quotient of up to a 4-digit whole number divided by a 1-digit whole number using an array model, area model, or equation, including the standard algorithm for division.
Reading
We will summarize the main idea and supporting details in text in ways that maintain meaning. We will create a sequencing chart the summarizes the plot's main events. We will also explain the plot's main events and their influence on future events. We will compare different writing pieces to Fireflies!, including poems, art, song lyrics, fiction, and nonfiction pieces.
Writing
This week in writing, we will look at authentic revising and editing examples. We will focus on our sentence structure in our personal writing.
Word Work
We will be focusing on establishing a central idea, supporting sentences with simple facts, details, and explanations, and making sure our paragraphs contain a concluding statement. We will be using a 3 by 3 to create our paragraphs.
