We also spread kindness throughout the district as a group delivered donuts to five different elementary schools. People were so excited when we presented them with the donuts :).
Fleece and Thank You
Oakview's Third Annual Fleece and Thank You event will be held on Tuesday, April 30th. Last year, students made over 40 blankets. We hope to increase that number. The Information sheet that is attached will be passed out next week. There are many ways for students to participate. If students want to make a blanket, they can stay after school from 2:30-4:30. You can buy a blanket kit to make or bring your own fleece. If you want to help but cannot attend, money to make blankets can be donated and students will get them made. Family members are welcome to join us after school. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kutchen at christine.kutchen@lok12.org.

Positivity Project - Humor
Humor means that you like to laugh and bring smiles to other people. It is a sense of playfulness and lightness. A way of looking at and describing the world that brings laughter to people. A person with the strength of humor is skilled at seeing at the funny side of things, bringing smiles and laughter to others, and identifying and communicating the absurdities in life. People with this strength don’t specifically need to be joke tellers, although many are.
Humor can have a dark side, depending on how it’s used. Some humor is mean spirited and bullying. The strength of humor that the character strength focuses on is that which raises the spirits of other people.
Academic Service Learning
To celebrate a successful first year of implementing The Positivity Project, Oakview students are going to participate in a building-wide academic service learning project. For this to be a success we are asking for donations of time and items as we partner with several senior centers in our community. Please click on the link below to access the sign-up if you are interested in participating.
