November Newsletter
Hello
We are rounding out Rotation 3 and are nearing the half-way point for Marking Period 2. Scheduling for Rotation 4 will begin next week. Please encourage your learners to complete any evidence that they may owe so that they can advance to the next strand in each of their content areas.
To kick off Marking Period 2 and Rotation 3, we celebrated the success of our learners with a whole school SOAR Assembly! During this time we recognized over 200 students for excellence here at STMS! Congratulations to all, we look forward to your continued progress through Marking Period 2!
Over the course of November, we also held our Student Government Elections! Candidates campaigned across the school and gave speeches during a whole school assembly. Everyone did a great job at representing STMS, congratulations to our newly elected student body representatives!

A Message From Our Counselors
Dauphin County Tech Application Process Open
We wanted to announce that the application process for Dauphin County Technical School (DCTS) has begun for 8th graders. To start the application process, you will need to go to Dauphin County Technical School's website (DCTS.org). Once on the site, click on the "Enroll' tab in the upper right corner of the screen. Next, at the bottom of the Enrollment page, you will need to click on the link for 2023-2024 9th Grade Application. This will open a 2-page Microsoft form (Freshman Application for Admission 2023/2024) to complete. The form will ask contact and demographic information, and parental permission. A parent/guardian will need to help complete the form with their student. Online applications will be open till Friday, 2/3/23. Students will not be able to apply for DCTS after the deadline date.
Once DCTS receives the completed Freshman Application, DCTS will contact STMS Counseling Staff with student names. The Counseling Staff will call your student to our office, meet with the student to discuss further application needs and answer questions, and provide them with Career Goals Essay form. Student essays will need to be handwritten and returned to the Counseling Staff by Friday, 2/10/23. We encourage student to submit their essays prior to the deadline date.
STMS will submit application packets to DCTS at the end of February. Accepting letters should be sent to families' homes in April. If you have any questions, please, contact your students school counselor at STMS.
Thank you for your time and best of luck to all our applicants!
Thank you,
STMS School Counselors
