A School to Emulate
Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 12-14 through 12-18-15
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...
We have been invited to a program/service at First Christian Church this Sunday, December 13th at 9 am or 11:30 am. The African Children's Choir will be singing. First Christian Church does amazing things to support our school. It would be awesome if we had representation from Memorial. I plan to attend the 9 am service.
Winter break is only a week away. Let's try to make this a positive and memorable week for our students. Remember, we have some students who are unsure of what this extended time away from school bring. We will see all kinds of coping behaviors. Please have a little more patience and offer a lot more love.
We are continuing to MAP test this week. Be sure to add the data to the Google sheet. I am so excited to see how much growth our students have made.
This Friday, December 18th will be one of the busiest days of the year. It's an early release day and the students are dismissed at noon. In that short time we will have our Character & Citizenship assembly at 9 am, lunch & recess for six grade level, and class parties. Dress comfortably (appropriately) because there will be lots of movement. We will also have our annual staff Winter Party immediately after student dismissal. Plan to enjoy a delicious lunch from Dickeys, engage in a few awesome team building games, and hear the announcement of our 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year! Our team building games will be lead by former NBA All Star Sidney Moncrief. That sounds pretty cool to me.
Saturday school will begin when we return in January. The leadership team is aware of next steps. Remember that Saturday school is an expectation. All teachers are able and encouraged to participate in Saturday school. Each grade level should have 2 - 3 staff assigned for each session.
As promised the surveys are complete. Sara and I would like your feedback on the Bobcat Visioning Meetings as well as what you are interested in learning on alternating Mondays after school.
The Bobcat Visioning survey is geared toward teachers who participate in the meetings, but all are welcome to offer feedback. Your responses are anonymous and you must be logged into a PISD computer. It should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Click the link to access the survey. https://docs.google.com/a/pisd.edu/forms/d/1k6uiTtpQiPSXoe8q_aCvpxuamtGhK_T9ISGErctNd3Y/viewform

Keep the student work displays coming up around the building. They look GREAT!
This is a reminder that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!
Thanks everyone and let's have a wonderful week before break!
That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...
Kudos
