Based on the feedback from last week, we will host a school picture day. Please be on the lookout for specific details at the date in next week's update.
Black Lives Matter at School Week
Historically the month of February is Black History month. Two years ago The DPS Board of Education approved a resolution recognizing Black Lives Matter (BLM) at school. Schools across DPS will be participating this week. Anytime we discuss big ideas with little people, we consider age appropriate language and conversation and this will be no different. I have included a document highlighting the language we will be using with students as we discuss and review the Principles of the Movement for Black Lives. (Please see link below.)
What you can expect at Easley is for our students to engage in classroom conversations around recognizing and celebrating diversity, valuing and recognizing that everyone has the right to be safe and happy and to express their opinion, and everyone has the right to be treated fairly. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's classroom teacher or school administration.

Our VIRTUAL 💻 REMIX IS COMING SOON!
Our major fundraiser with #ApexLeadershipCo kicks off on Tuesday, February 16th! We’re going VIRTUAL so ALL students can participate from the safety and comfort of home or classroom! We’re so excited and it's always a really fun leaning opportunity for our students.
Apex is a local company that provides a fun 2-week program where students will learn about important leadership habits and good character traits. Then the program wraps up with a celebratory, high energy VIRTUAL REMIX event. Families are asked to help our school by gathering pledges from family and friends for every Fitness Move their student completes at the VIRTUAL REMIX on Thursday, February 25th!
✅ 🚗 DRIVE THRU PACKET PICK-UP: Families will be able to stop by the school and say hi to our Apex leaders and safely pick-up their Apex Pledge Kit, Daily Leadership Wristbands and Event Day T-shirts on Monday, February 15th from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM
The funds we’re raising from this event will go towards continued instructional enhancements such as technology, leveled books, and teacher grants and projects; Teacher Appreciation, and Continued Advocacy to Easley Families and so much more…
We understand that some of our families may not be in a position to donate, and that’s OK! If you can help, please know that no donation is too small. We’ll share more info about the Apex program and ways to support our school over the coming weeks.
