Newsletter Week 10 Term 3 2021

From the Principal

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

It has been a crazy term 3, and it was fitting that we ended with a Crazy Dress Up Day yesterday. The staff enjoyed it just as much as the students!

As you would have seen on our Facebook page, Pet Day has unfortunately been cancelled for next term. With Covid Level 2 restrictions, this makes a gathering very difficult to manage - we hope parents will understand that this was a very difficult decision.

Term 4 begins on the 18th October and this will also be a Technology Day for Year 7 and 8 students. Term 4 also brings the warmer weather which means hats will be a requirement for all students please. These are provided by the school, so please see Lisa in the office if your child needs a new hat.

The school pool usually opens by the beginning of December, so that is something the students always look forward to. For the junior students, we ask parents to please practice with your child getting dressed and undressed independently. During swimming time, it is very important that students can manage this so that swimming time is not taken up with assisting dressing/undressing.

Next term, the Kids Edible Garden should be in full swing. We thank Lisa Lasenby for taking on the role of Kids Edible Garden Facilitator - she will be working with the students in the garden. We are also happy to welcome Lisa Lasenby as our new Pool Caretaker.

Have a wonderful holiday.

CHALICE ROOM

Chalice Room has been learning how to draw the human figure. We posed for photos of our favourite Olympic sport and then got some wire and made it into a figure. We then learnt about felting and wrapped this around the wire.

We are really happy and proud of our art piece.

CRAZY DRESS UP DAY

Yesterday the school had a crazy dress up day in order for PTA to get some donated chocolate for fundraising purposes. The PTA Student Rep (Ivy Hale) suggested this idea, and it was alot of fun! Thank you parents for the chocolate donations, PTA will make sure this is used in a fundraiser next term.
