STEAM Club Opportunity for 5th & 6th Grade Students
This year we are excited to once again offer STEAM Club opportunities for our 5th and 6th grade students. The activities will always be advertised in the Buffett Bulletin. There will be several different opportunities throughout the school year. One great thing about STEAM Club is your student can choose what interests them without having to commit to a full year club!
STEAM Club will take place after school from dismissal until 4:30. Any student needing to take the late bus will be supervised until the late bus leaves. The late bus typically leaves Buffett by 5:10.
Our first opportunity will be sponsored by Ms. Hinde. She will be doing two 4-week sessions where each date will highlight a different activity. One activity will be coding with Sphero robots, one will be using STEAM kits to build, one will utilize MakerSpace activities, and one will be using Breakout Boxes.
Please use the link below or the QR code to sign up. There will be a limit of 16 participants for each set of dates.
Look for more opportunities in the weeks to come!

In order to maintain a productive classroom environment, teachers follow this classroom matrix in line with our Buffett High 5.
Parents, please review these classroom expectations with your student.
I Love Public Schools Fundraiser
Have you heard? We’re raising money for Buffett's National Junior Honor Society and here’s how you can help! We’ve teamed up with Nebraska Loves Public Schools and created our very own Bobcat version of the I Love Public Schools t-shirt! The money raised will ensure that Buffett's NJHS charter continues at our school! NJHS provides our students with leadership opportunities and student input in the decisions at our school. Be on the look out for more information about how you can support the NJHS by pre-ordering your custom I Love Public Schools t-shirt starting October 1st!

School-wide Word of the Week
This week students will start a school-wide focus on a word of the week in Bobcat Den. Everyday students will do a short activity with the word of the week. The word list is compiled of research proven words that will help students tackle complex texts, learn to read more closely, add to their vocabularies, improve speaking and listening skills, and become well-rounded learners.
The FIRST word of the week is CLASSIFY which means to arrange or order by categories.
