COVID Case Information during Christmas Break

This week, we begin our winter break for USD #368. If any student or staff has a confirmed positive COVID test OR is identified as a close contact to a confirmed positive case during our break, please submit case information to the school nurse and administrator using the following link:

https://forms.gle/XBXcHxjTXUAFcWy36

School follow up on these cases will be done after the New Year, unless otherwise indicated. Contact the Miami County Health Department at 294-2431 with any immediate questions.

COVID Precautions

We are grateful for every day that we have been able to have in-person learning in the Paola school district. We feel that our protocols are effective in helping staff and students stay safe while at school, but realize that nothing can be 100%. We also know that staff and students can be exposed from sources outside of school as well. As you enjoy your break from school, continue to be mindful of the importance of good hand hygiene, social distancing and masking anytime you are in public places. Minimize gathering in large groups. Be symptom aware and seek medical advice if you experience any COVID symptoms.

Influenza Policy

Please also be reminded of the USD #368 school board policy on the management of influenza in school. Any student with a confirmed case of influenza will need to be home from school for 5 days from the onset of symptoms.

BURRR! Cold weather is upon us!

Sunflower has been fortunate to receive brand new hat and glove donations. We know sometimes kids will lose or forget their gloves or hats. We want to keep kids warm and comfortable at recess! The (new) hat and gloves are for kids to enjoy and keep when the need arises. Parents are also always welcome to call or email Mrs. Wilson, lisa_wilson@usd368.org, to specifically request hats and gloves for their child(ren).
