All Aboard! TRAIN AWAY!
Available training 2nd Semester 2016 and Beyond!
.-.-.-.-. Ditch the Baggage and Hop On Board! .-.-.-.-.
Adventure is worthwhile in itself!
That’s what my fortune cookie says anyway!
We are all on the same adventure, and it’s a fast moving train.
When it comes to using digital tools for work and then integrating technology into lesson plans, well, some find themselves overcome by anxiety. Why you may ask?
.-.-.-.-.Because.-.-.-. well.-.-.-. there are so many different choices that they get to the point of pure panic! It’s Ok.-.-.-.-. really, it’s OK.-.-.-.-. breathe! .-.-.-.Wait.-.-.-. then there’s the worry that something isn’t going to work or the students will think it’s lame.-.-.-. causing them to be overly cautious! Sometimes so cautious that the train derails, they stick with what they know, and throw adventure out the door! What a train wreck!
It’s time we ditch the baggage and start an adventure. Board the train, stop standing on the platform! Once you know how to use Google Docs, Office 365, a website or an App it is so much easier to integrate into your lessons. (No More Baggage) Let’s find a way to get our students engaged, captivated, and excited to learn! Who knows, once you take your first adventure, you may find yourself chugging on down the tracks for more!
Start the adventure by scrolling through the newsletter and when you see something you like.-.-.-.-.-. just.-.-.-.-.-. STOP the TRAIN and check it out!
If you don’t see anything that interests you, tell me what you want to explore. What adventure into technology do you want to take?
Just a reminder: to get in district credit for training hours, training must take place outside of contracted hours (lunch or after school).
.-.-.-.-. Office 365 (OneDrive) .-.-.-.-.

WHAT!?! Did I hear right, I can download the full version of Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote) on up to 5 of my own devices for free just because I work at QISD!?!
APPS for Apple and Android devices... windows devices too!
.-.-.-.-. Mimio Create / Edit a Lesson .-.-.-.-.
This will be comprised of 2 - 1hr sessions. These are hands-on workshops and by the end of the second session, you will have almost or totally completed a working interactive lesson for your next class.
Basics 1: Learn to create an interactive lesson and dive into the Gallery. Bring an idea (and have some content) of a lesson you would like to create or an already made lesson you want to edit with your content.
Basics 2: Building on the lesson you started in session one, making it interactive and engaging!
Click the link below! If a training session is not available, send me an email and I’ll get one setup.
.-.-.-.-. OneNote .-.-.-.-.
.-.-.-.-. OneNote, the ULTIMATE companion! .-.-.-.-.
Use OneNote to save everything, access it from anywhere, finding information you need is quick and painless!
Use OneNote on your desktop computer (PC, or MAC), your iOS or Android phone, and /or tablet... doesn't matter, they all sync your data into OneNote!
Create a OneNote notebook for personal use, plan an outing with family and friends. Create one for collaborating with fellow teachers (in district and out).
You can also create OneNote notebooks for your classes, set permission to keep student work private from other students, your teacher notes private to you, and share class content with all (Onenote can set that up for you)!
Want to learn more? I'm having a 1 hr workshop to show you the basics.
