Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
The month of April is flying past us quickly. Lots of end of the year activities are being planned for students. I want to make you aware of grade level party dates:
Monday 5/22: Grade 4-12:00 and Grade 1-1:00
Tuesday 5/23: Grade 2-1:00
Wednesday 5/24: Grade 3-9:00 and Grade K-1:00
*If you attend a party and decide to check your student out early, please sign out in the teacher’s classroom. Forms will be provided. We want to keep the office disruptions minimal due to the amount of people who will be coming through our building.
This week, I want to send a huge thank you and pat on the back to Girl Scout Troop 17423 for beautifying the front of our campus. These little ladies did an excellent job along with their parents on a hot spring day. We appreciate all the love they showed our grounds. More to come this weekend at Hands on CCES after the Colt’s Cup. Please see photos below!
We have made some fantastic new hires at CCES for the 2017-18 school year. I cannot wait to introduce those to you hopefully in the coming weeks as they are all confirmed through HR. In the meantime, I want to make you aware of staffing changes we are currently aware of:
We have two retirees to celebrate: Vicki Miller (K Para) and Cathy Courtney (Grade Two)
The following teachers will be moving grade levels:
Mary Wolter to part time EIP
Emily McGhee to 2nd
Cindy McGuire to 3rd
Molly Nelson to 2nd
Megan Hanney to 4th
Gabby Kroll to 4th
Latosha Cheeseboro to 5th
LaCheryl Elliott to 5th
Griffin Nichols to 5th
We also have a few staff members leaving for personal reasons:
Mrs. Bunch (K) - staying at home
Ms. Bitzer (Grade Four) - moving to South Georgia with her new fiancé
Mrs. Williamson (Grade One) - transferring to Forsyth to a school close to her new home
Additionally, we gained new positions due to a projected enrollment increase. I have been so amazed at the people we have been able to bring on board. Many of the interviewees have sought out CCES due to our focus on literacy and workshop teaching. There is a lot to be said to that and I am so proud we can obtain such high quality candidates.
It looks like the rain will hold off Saturday for our weekend activities. Mrs. Richardson will be on campus for Colt’s Cup and I will arrive in time for Hands on CCES. We hope to see you at one or both events. Also, Milton Earth Day will be held at Friendship Park. Come out and join us!
Spring ‘Hand’s On’ event: Saturday, April 22 ! (9:30am - 11:30am)
After the Colt’s Fun Run, hang out to help provide a beautiful place for your children to learn.
Did you know, all landscape work (other than grass cutting) is paid for and completed by volunteers? This includes weeding, mulch, planting, watering, etc.
Come make a difference and show your kids how we help our community.
There will be a variety of projects where you and your children can lend a hand.
Please bring work gloves, shovels and wheelbarrow/garden carts.

Georgia Milestones Testing Schedule
No Visitors or Volunteers During Testing
Please remember that no lunch visitors or volunteers will be allowed in the building from April 13th - April 27th. Together, we want to provide the most quiet and stress free environment for our students as they take the Georgia Milestones test.
Thank you for your understanding.
To My CCE Family
Administrators, Staff, Co-workers, Friends, Parents, and Students,
I want to thank you all for your love and support over the past three and a half months following my accident. I was overwhelmed by your generosity, your precious cards, and prayers. I have never felt so loved! I am so thankful to each of you. I hope you never have to experience the pain and suffering that my family went through - but if you ever do, I hope you feel the overwhelming love that I have felt. I am so happy to be back at work and I am enjoying the sweet smiles and hugs that I am receiving daily. You'll never know how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
