End of the year distribution and collection of materials
VUSD and Anacapa have been working diligently to ensure we develop a plan supporting social distancing practices for textbooks and instrument collection and student PE clothing pick-up. We will begin our collection on Monday, June 1st-June 3rd, in the large parking lot at the corner of Mills Road and Telegraph Road from 7:30 am 11 am and 3-6 pm. Will collect by grade level.
- Monday, June 1st- 8th Graders - 7:30 am 11 am and 3-6 pm
- Tuesday, June 2nd- 7th Graders- 7:30 am 11 am and 3-6 pm.
- Wednesday, June 3rd- 6th Graders- 7:30 am 11 am and 3-6 pm
Please park and follow all signage and social distancing protocols. We appreciate your patience as we work through collecting school property and having students collect their personal items from the locker room.
How to Prepare:
Visit Destiny Account
Remember to check your Destiny account to see what library and textbook items need to be returned to the library on your scheduled day. If you need a quick reminder on how to log into Destiny, head to the LMC website for a short video.
Have you borrowed a school lock for your bike or skateboard this school year?
Remember to bring the school rental lock with you and drop it off at the designated station. Replacement locks cost $5.
Have a school instrument?
Please plan to bring the instrument with you to the drop-off in the band room.
Have books that belong to your teacher's classroom library?
Gather all those great reads and bring them with you! We want to make sure to return those books to teachers.
Are you moving away? Are you leaving VUSD next school year?
If you are going to be part of a different school district and currently have a school loaner device for distance learning, please bring that device with you. We will need to collect the equipment.

AMS Yearbooks Updates
The pandemic impacts on Josten's plant operations have mandated limited working personnel to maintain safe distancing, and their plant is experiencing delays in production on some of our yearbook jobs. Unfortunately, this delay is affecting our school's yearbook delivery date.
The target completion date for our yearbooks has been pushed back to early June.
We are sorry to have to relay this news, and I'm hoping that you and your student(s) will understand the situation. As soon as we have more information, Anacapa will communicate with families as soon as yearbooks arrive with a distribution plan. Please accept our apologies for this situation. We and Josten's are so appreciative of your patience and understanding during this very challenging production season.
DISTRICT COMMUNICATIONThe district has moved from a daily email and voicemail to one weekly communication from the District on Wednesday nights through email, call, website, and social media.
SUMMER MEAL DISTRIBUTION
Meal distribution will continue until July 31, thanks to our fantastic staff in Food & Nutrition Services. Meals will continue to be distributed the same way we are now, on Mondays and at the same six sites; ATLAS, Montalvo, Will Rogers, DATA, Sheridan Way, and Sunset K-8. These meals are available to any individual under the age of 18. The last meal distribution day will be Monday, July 27. We will be in touch about meal distribution in the Fall when we have a better idea of how school will look.
Distance Learning Updates
STUDENT DAILY EMAIL CHECK
Please work with your student to help them get into the habit of checking their email accounts daily. They should be checking their Edgenuity program account and their @venturaedu.org (Google Account). Teachers, counselors, and administrators are using these accounts to communicate important information to students.
STUDENT NEEDS A LOANER DEVICE?
If you were unable to pick up a device for your child during our large device distributions and need one, please reach out to Mr. Cota, Assistant Principal, via email to set up a time to pick one up. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use the subject line: Device for student. Please include your student's first and last name, grade level, and an email or phone number in which they can contact you for pick up. You can also call our front office (805) 289-7900.
EDGENUITY FAMILY PORTAL
If you would like access to the Family Portal, AMS Families please visit the AMS Website, Parent Section to request the activation code and the email that you will need to login to the Family Portal. This guide will help you.
Due to FERPA regulations, Edgenuity will not release the activation code in an email or phone call. An educator or administrator must provide this information to the parent in order to complete this registration process.
