Programming
The language of computers
History
Programming was first created during the late 1800s. Ada Lovelace created the first algorithm for use of a computer and is typically called the world's first computer programmer. Programs then were algorithms and processes were for doing this easier and simpler.
Then in 1954 the first high level programming language was developed called FORTRAN. It was used for translating formulas. The programs were on paper cards that had them hole punched into them. Then when data storage and terminals became less expensive they began to type the programs directly into the computers making it easier to correct mistakes than the paper. With the paper if a mistake was made then you would have to make a new card.
Now since computers have become more advanced and more powerful new languages have been developed to keep up with the pace at which computers are advancing. Some the languages are C++, C#, Python, Java, SQL, Visual Basic and a lot more.
