December 2019 - End of Year Edition
A Festive Time of Year
For many educators, this is the time of year when reports are being written, the last exams are being marked, and in some places, this is the end of the school year. As we embark on holidays, let us take time to reflect on the amazing work we've done this year.
We have some updates on conferences, changes happening at Microsoft, and an opportunity to connect with people in need around the world.
Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!
See you in 2020!
- The ISTEGlobalPLN Team
"What's on your Virtual Plate?" is a global student collective resource where all participants re-create, using VR, the last meal they ate - to be shared with the world! The larger goal is using this education technology to create connections and collaborations globally without the barrier of physical distance.

About the Flat Stanley Project
Grade 3 students at Chadwick International in Songdo, South Korea need your help! They are studying exploration and will be having a grade 3 class competition on their Stanley's exploring. They will be able to explore the locations that he comes in from as well as keep track of the distance traveled from locations for their specific Stanley and race/explore the world against their other four 3rd grade classes.
When you receive your Stanley, you'll notice that he has 2 QR codes on him. This Wakelet QR code will bring you straight to the Wakelet collection that we will be using to collect the photos of all the landmarks and places Stanley gets to visit. The Flipgrid QR code when scanned with the Flipgrid app, while pop up a Flipgrid AR video recording from the class with a greeting and directions.
When you have shown Stanley around, you can simply forward Stanley's PDF self to as many friends as you'd like around the WORLD!
Thank you so much for your help with this project and will get our friend Stanley off to you ASAP! #QRStanley
