Please take a look at the volunteer needs for the April 26-28 Spring UIL Event at CLHS. We are fortunate that our students don’t have to take a bus to another location and miss most of a day of school. We are also fortunate that our students can learn leadership skills and earn volunteer hours while hosting the event. Parents are needed to help in TWO ways.

First, provide a couple of volunteers in the sight-reading room to “mange the clock” (timer) – you will be trained! There are three shifts: one LONG morning shift and two shorter afternoon shifts. Those who sign up for the LONG morning shift will have lunch provided.

Parents are also needed for hospitality for the judges. There are three shifts: set-up breakfast, set-up lunch, and clean-up. You will be reimbursed same day for your expenses.

Each year the Falcon Band Booster Club awards two scholarships to Falcon Band seniors, one for a music major, and one for a non-music major. Please read over the attached information regarding the scholarships, and if you are interested fill it out and turn it in to the FBBC mailbox on the wall outside the band office by Wednesday April 20.

Many thanks to those who attended our FBBC meeting last week. We were able to accomplish the following items.

· The nominating committee was elected (Joy King, Lisa Russell, and Jacob Berry).

· The audit committee was appointed (Dawn Duncan, Anthea Guest, and Yulia Berry)

· Proposed amendments to the By-Laws were submitted for consideration

· Financial reports, meeting minutes, and budget amendments were voted on and approved

Our last meeting will be on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm in the band hall. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE FROM THURSDAY TO TUESDAY! Set an alert to make sure you attend so that we can have a quorum to do the following:

· Vote to elect next year’s FBBC Board officers

· Vote on the proposed amendments to the By-Laws

· Vote on end of year budget amendments

· Vote on next year’s budget

· Vote to elect next year’s FBBC Board officers
