Moving Dragons Forward Together

Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year at JMS

We are in full swing here at JMS as the school year has begun. From football games to two successful school dances, JMS has started the year off with a bang! Join us in viewing this monthly newsletter to stay up to date with all things JMS related. Go Dragons!

Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) at JMS

At JMS, we integrate PBIS into our CARES program each week to help promote the three school-wide expectations of Being Responsible, Being Respectful, and Being Safe. PBIS is a pro-active approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. Currently we are celebrating the students embracing the three school-wide expectations by utilizing our Dragon Dollars Program. When teachers recognize that students are exemplifying responsible, respectful, and safe behaviors, the students are rewarded with Dragon Dollars. These Dragon Dollars can be used to purchase various things such as a trip to the game room, lunch with a friend, ice cream, and tickets to after-school events such as football games and dances.
