Counselor Corner
Greetings families. This month’s focus is Honesty. One way to think about Honesty is “being truthful in what you say and do.” Practicing Honesty helps strengthen our relationships and reduce stress. Students will engage in mindfulness practices prior to lesson and will lessons will be centered around revisiting how we can manage uncomfortable emotions. Small groups will also start during specified lunch times with a focus on social skills. I look forward to a positive New Year and continued relationship building with students.
Family Events and Resources
Afterschool Tutoring for Spring Session
Our Spring Session of after school programs will resume on January 16th, 2024. Participation is by invitation only, based on academic need. As partners in your child's education, we'd like to emphasize the significant role that consistent after-school attendance plays in fostering academic success and overall student development. After-school programs provide additional time for learning and reinforcing concepts taught during regular school hours. This continuity is instrumental in solidifying understanding and retention of academic material. The second hour (4:00-5:00) offers many enrichment opportunities, such as art, garden, folklorico, or mariachi. These programs broaden your child's horizons beyond the traditional curriculum, fostering creativity and artistic development. We understand the demands of balancing various commitments and schedules. However, we encourage you to prioritize and support your child's attendance in after-school programs as much as possible.
