DEPARTMENT: Bilingual Summer School

REPORTS TO: Bilingual Director/ Bilingual Summer School Coordinator
WORK DAYS: 5 Days per Week/8 Hours per Day for 32 Days: June 19 – August 6
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Tutor students individually in a home setting promoting parental involvement.
2. Conference with the classroom teacher to monitor student progress.
3. Supervise students when needed.
4. Assist in compiling test data and keep required documentation and records.
5. Maintain accurate student files.
6. Complete required records in a timely manner.
7. Log activities and learning meetings accurately.
8. Attend relevant inservices as they are available.
9. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
10. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
11. Give assessments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Must meet federal guidelines for Highly Qualified by having an AA degree or 72 quarter hours or 48 semester college credits or documentation of successfully passing the state assessment. Additionally, use of district vehicles and large amounts of travel are required. Promoting parent partnerships in a bilingual environment requires basic conversational skills in the students’ primary language (Spanish).
MANDATORY CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
• Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.
• Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
Bilingual, Bi-literate, Bicultural Spanish preferred for all positions.
