SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Construction Update: Laura shared that the ongoing rain has caused significant delays to the baseball and softball field project. There is a backup plan for the baseball team to practice at the middle school turf field when the season starts, as well as using indoor facilities. Softball is not as affected, as they still have a field to play on.
The district is in conversations with the City of Johnston regarding a new trail/sidewalk to come down Merle Hay and go behind a new apartment complex. This would improve walkability for Johnston students and residents; more information will be forthcoming.
A final list of things to finish up at JELA/Wallace was created last week and now the construction team, along with Suzie Pearson and Joy Palmer will prioritize and schedule the work to get done.
Superintendent Goals: Laura gave a brief overview of one of her goals for the year and the work that is being done to accomplish them. She discussed the new teacher evaluation framework adoption (Goal #4) and professional learning alignment (Goal #2).
