Evan Schmidt

Congratulations to 8th Grader Evan Schmidt for his 2nd place winning essay in the Founding Freedoms Essay and Playwriting Contest sponsored by the National Constitution Center. The contest was designed to increase awareness of the rights set forth in the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence, all while engaging students to think creatively about our nation's great history.

We are extremely proud of Evan, who, along with his social studies teacher, Mr. Heron, will be recognized and honored at the National Constitution Center Museum on Thursday, May 7.

Cedarbrook students have been busy building solar cars. Teams can be found sprawled out in hallways, in front of the school building, or in nooks and corners all with ONE purpose-to design the best solar powered vehicle. Ms. Beth Kenna, one of the challenge consultants at Cedarbrook Middle School, has been advising and encouraging students throughout this process. Gooooo Wildcats!!!

Kings Rule Together

Curran Swint, founder and owner of Kings Rule Together, visited with the boys of Leadership Academy. He shared his life experiences and the importance of preparing now to pursue your passion. He spoke to them about the importance of forming relationships with positive people who will motivate you to be your BEST. The boys were challenged to think about who was in their friendship circle, how they could use social media to promote their brand and passion, and the importance of working together to improve the whole.

Kings Rule Together is a clothing line that promotes unity and collaboration. The motto is Kings Inspire Kings. The boys were surprised and excited when Mr. Swint provided them with KRT shirts.
