CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC)

The St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 School Board believes that strong partnerships with all stakeholders ensure that students have access to rigorous curriculum, innovative learning experiences, and opportunities for academic, social, and emotional growth.

As part of our strategic commitment to engage our families and the community, the District 303 School Board has established a Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) to help promote ongoing two-way conversations. We are seeking stakeholders who can provide information, feedback, support, and guidance to the School Board.

Your participation is vital to the success of this committee. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer on the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC), please complete this application and submit by September 30, 2019.

DAVIS RICHMOND IS PAWsitive!!!

Have you heard your child talking about PAW Points? Davis Richmond teachers began distributing PAW Points to students demonstrating positive school behavior outside their classrooms in lunch/recess, specials, and other school settings. Once 10 PAW Points are earned, classrooms recognize their successes with a mini-celebration!

At Richmond, students receive PAW points by demonstrating their common space expectations that we learned about during our first weeks of school. At Davis, we have begun recognizing classrooms and students who are doing their “BEST.” Ask your students how many paws their class has collected and what they were doing to show their “BEST.”

Please encourage your child to follow the Davis Richmond School expectations and help us celebrate their positive behavior today!

CONSTITUTION DAY: A DAY OF LEARNING AND CELEBRATION

Davis Richmond students paused Wednesday to recognize “Constitution Day.” We learned about the key freedoms guaranteed by this important document. Many classrooms shared the book, We the Kids: The Preamble to the Constitution, and made connections to their classroom “Rights and Responsibilities”.

TIGER CUB MILEAGE CLUB

The Tiger Cub Mileage Club is a walking opportunity our Kdg - 2nd Grade Students can take during their recess time. The purposes are many: To provide playground activity choices, facilitate positive interactions during recess, increase readiness to learn, fight childhood obesity, and establish a lifelong habit that supports good health.

Students keep track of their mileage and receive small tokens to mark their accomplishments. At each 10-mile mark, students get their picture taken and placed on our Walking Club Celebration Number Line. Last year, many students reached 10 and 20 miles. One student walked 70 miles! Students are recognized in our final assembly of the year.

1st and 2nd Grade have begun Walking Club. Kdg will begin in October.

DISTRICT-WIDE WALK TO SCHOOL DAY PARTICIPATION

On Wednesday, October 2, Davis will be participating in the Walk to School Day. Walkers and Car Riders will be meeting at the corner of Horne and 7th to walk around our kdg playground and into our school. Bus riders will follow their typical arrival procedures.

LOST AND FOUND

Our Lost and Found is located in the Community Room. We have already accumulated a number of sweatshirts students have left behind. Please label all outerwear, backpacks, and lunchboxes with your child’s name and we will get them back to their classrooms. Items without a name will remain in the Lost and Found until the end of the trimester when they will be donated to a local charity.
