Working in the Power Zone
FUNDAMENTAL 5
Where are the Power Zones?
In the typical classroom there are three locations where a teacher can conduct his or her class: the teacher work area (desk), the lecture area (front or side of the classroom), and power areas (close proximity to student groups and/or high need students.) Teaching in these "power zones" reduces off task behaviors and academic dishonesty as well as increases student participation and retention of content.
