- was created to help civilians during troubled times
- only self-defense
- was meant for peace
- established during the Tang Dynasty

- maintain good culture of the ancestors
- for self defense

- external kung fu

- travelled through immigrants in early 1900s
- first school in Hawaii in 1950s
- became popular through people like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and others
KUNG FU: How it's done
- have excellent breathing
- MENTALLY fit
- be flexible
- functioning limbs
- focused mind
- strong muscles
- correct posture
