The Backwards Christmas Pageant
"This will change everything," people say when something new or dramatic happens in their lives, and often it does just that. How do we tell the story of how the birth of Christ changed things long ago and how it continues to change things? Tell the story backward! Part of the point of “The Backward Christmas Pageant” is that time doesn't matter in this story. The birth of a baby two thousand years ago changed everything--God's grace is timeless.
This year, our Christmas Pageant offers our Hillview children a wonderful and unique opportunity to learn how to play the tone chimes as a part of their annual offering to the congregation. Each week, beginning September 11-December 11, children Preschool-6th grade will learn how to play the chimes, sing, and practice their parts for the pageant. There are NO auditions and ALL children are invited to take part in this pageant led by Sue Walch and Maggie Edmondson. There will be no practice on November 27 (Thanksgiving break) and there will be a dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m.-noon. The Christmas Pageant will take place on Sunday, December 15 during the 10 a.m. worship service.
If you would like your child to participate in this musical opportunity, please return the registration form to Maggie Edmondson, Minister of Congregational Life, and contact her with any questions or for more information at 891.4385, in person, or by email (meg.edmondson@gmail.com).
