Viking News - The Week of 10/10/2022

Happy Friday, RHS Students!
This past week was short, but full with many events and opportunities that brought us out into the community. Seniors Helping Seniors was a huge success with many connections made and gratitude expressed to our students for their hard work and efforts. I've included some quotes from the senior citizens served by this experience:
"Polite, efficient, well-organized and kind. The best help we have ever had. Thank you! Made our day!"
"The students did a wonderful job. They're a credit to the school. Well done!"
"These kids are the best ever! Went way above and beyond what they were supposed to do. Your school should be very proud of them. Thank you!"
"We are so grateful for this program and for the students who came and helped out. They were amazing and a tribute to the school and community."
The RHS Guidance team organized the opportunity for all juniors to participate in the PSATs this past Wednesday. A thank you to the Guidance team and teachers who proctored and re-arranged their classes to support this experience.
Mr. Parisi and I met with student athletes to discuss the season thus far and reinforce the importance of leadership, teamwork and positive culture building. Next week, we will be expanding our conversations through Weekly Assembly and lunches to broaden our perspective of courageous leadership and inclusive culture.
I look forward to a great week ahead. Enjoy the weekend! π

Traffic Safety Request
In order to alleviate congestion and assure a safe environment for students and families, we are asking drivers to take caution and be aware of their speed, and attention to pedestrians; most especially during the busy times of drop-off and pick-up. We understand this can be a hectic time and we ask that drivers proceed with caution and care for the safety of all involved. The Rockport Police Department will be present to help monitor the flow of traffic. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in making this daily duty a little more pleasant for all involved.

The Vikings defense led by Quinten Savlen and Michael Murphy were able to lock down the 9th ranked team in the state and hold them to only two goals in the first half. Nick Nocella, Owen Aiello and Atticus Anderson played strong in the middle of the field for Rockport.
The Royals hosted the Vikings on Thursday afternoon, and the boys played a tough match. Despite losing, the Vikings worked hard and stayed strong throughout the game. Congrats to Atticus Anderson for scoring the lone goal of the game! β½π
