Pine Run Elementary School

The Fourth Grade Wax Museum

Can you guess who these famous people are? Pine Run's fourth grade students researched, wrote, and presented information about famous individuals who bettered our world! They each did a terrific job of getting into character and teaching others new and interesting facts about those who have made history. Bravo to our fourth grade impersonators!!

Pine Run Portfolio Conferences

Thank you to our Pine Run parents and students for meeting with teachers, celebrating achievement, and setting goals for the remainder of our school year. Our discussions and collaboration go a long way towards helping all our amazing students find success!

The Rainforest Comes to Pine Run!

What fun we had at our evening assembly entitled The Rainforest. It was wonderful watching as our children laughed and learned about the animals who call the rainforest their home. This group's message of conservation and protection was very well received.

Internet Safety

Officer Mary McCoy, Special Agent with the Bureau of Investigative Services, shares some eye-opening information about the internet:

Key Points:

  • The legal age to have a Facebook account is 13. All children that have a Facebook account under the age of 13 should have the account closed.
  • The top 2 modes child predators use to reach victims are:
  1. Facebook
  2. X-Box
  • Do you know what Formspring is? Snapchat? If not, get to know them. These sites are not appropriate for anyone.
  • Students should pledge to keep personal information safe. Personal information includes name, age, address, school name, picture, and phone number.
  • There are legal ramifications for cyber bullying and for posting inappropriate materials online.
  • Items, pictures, and comments posted to social media outlets or sent through an electronic device are permanent.
  • If kids feel they are the victim of cyber bullying, they should turn off their device and bring the device to a trusted adult.
  • Children should be encouraged to talk to their parents, teachers, or other trusted adults if they feel they have been the victim of cyber bullying.
