Pikes Peak

My Big Adventure

Pikes Peak

WOW!! That's what i said when i looked down at the ground from the top of pikes peak, one of Colorado’s tallest mountains. It was so tall that i almost puked because of lack of oxogen.Throwing a rock down from the top was like throwing a rock into a never ending hole.

Pikes Peak

My big trip

In 2013 my family and i went to Colorado for our family trip. While we were there we went white water rafting and a bunch of other things too. But, the funnest thing we did while we were there was climbing pikes peak. pikes peak is 14,114 feet above sea level and one of Colorado's tallest mountains. every year about 1,400 people try to climb it by foot and only about 10 to 15 people make it. At the top of it the temperature difference is 50°f. so if it was 100°f it would be 50°f up there.

The real adventure

Now imagine looking down 14,000 foot drop off. There are planes that fly that high!As we were driving up the mountain we saw a couple of deer and raccoons too. The train was the scariest part of the whole trip. it went practically straight up and down. I was so scared that i almost peed my pants because it was old and felt like it was going to fall down the rails 14,000 feet and kill us. at the bottom, they have state troopers with heat guns checking the brake temperature and if they were too hot they would pull you to the side and make them cool down. Those people that race rally cars on that moutain are the craziest people in the world. There has not been wrecks there but that doesn’t make it not scary!

Find your own adventure

I know this isn't the coolest thing ever but it was pretty fun and it didn't involve the video games and texting so get out and enjoy the world. The tv and video games will rot your brains out. Enjoy it while you can because pretty soon the world will be a concrete slab
