Pleasant Ridge Middle School
February 2020
Greetings
Hello Ram Fam.
Hopefully Spring arrives sooner than later. Again, I hope you enjoyed the "extra" day off this past week. Regardless of the number of snow days our teachers are focused and strive to make an impact in the lives of each student every day.
Over the past year Rubrics Cubes have become very popular in the building. More and more students have been bringing them to a point where they are causing a distraction to the learning environment. I have asked all students to refrain from bringing them to school until further notice.
Also I have reminded students about our cell phone policy which is to keep their phones locked in their lockers at all times. They are allowed to check them in between classes but they should not be bringing them to class.
Please continue to reach-out to teachers, counselors, staff members, and administration if there is anything else we can do to support your family.
Thank you again for making Pleasant Ridge Middle School a great place to learn and grow. As always, if there is anything we can do, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Sincerely,
Mr. Siebenmorgen
Second Chance Breakfast coming soon
A hungry stomach can lead to an unfocused mind. Studies have shown that good nutrition leads to improved classroom performance, higher test scores, and better behavior. There are many reasons why students don’t eat breakfast before the school day. Offering a 2nd Chance Breakfast allows students who haven't eaten before school to eat just a bit later.
Starting on Tuesday, February 18th, we will be providing a 2nd Chance breakfast during the first passing period for all of our students. They will be able to come to the cafeteria from 8:50 to 8:53 to purchase either an initial breakfast or a second breakfast for the same price as a regular one. Students will take the breakfast items (all "grab & go" breakfast choices) back to class with them. If a student eats breakfast during our first breakfast time before school and then wants a second breakfast, they will be charged for that 2nd breakfast, just as if they were getting seconds at lunch.
We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our students. If you have any questions about 2nd Chance Breakfast, please do not hesitate to contact us.
