World Language Weekly Update

Week of 2/22-2/26

French 1

In French 1, students continued talking about school in Francophone countries. They were assessed over school vocabulary. Then, they prepared for a zoom with an American teacher in France. They compared their experiences and were able to ask questions about what it’s like to live in France. Next week, we will be learning school supplies.

French 2

In French 2, students learned how to give commands. They listened to commands, identified and commanded, and gave commands to other people in the class. Then, they prepared skits for a situation that went wrong. Next week, we will be practicing what they say when they go to a doctor.

German 1

This week we have been learning about famous African Americans and African Germans auf Deutsch. Next week we will start our portfolios and March Madness Music brackets.

German 2 (6th hour)

This week we have been reading our class book, Namika, which is about an African-German musician. Next week we will continue with our book and work on our portfolios. We will also start our March Madness Music brackets!

German 2

This week we started reading an interactive online book “Brandon Brown entdeckt Bayern”. We completed pre-reading exercises as well as began working with the new vocabulary. We created background stories for our talent show and interviewed our peers. Round two with judges and moderators comes next week.

Spanish 1

This week we practiced our school vocabulary and talked about what we have to do in class. Next week we will be introduced to time and continue watching our video series, Mi Vida Loca.

Please remember that if your student is quarantined, s/he is still expected to complete the daily assignments. Each day Canvas is updated with lessons/assignments/notes that s/he should be checking and completing. If s/he has questions, please email the teacher or join the class on zoom. Spanish 2

This week we practiced stem changing verbs by saying what we prefer, want, and have to do. We also did a project on a famous athlete in class. Next week we will begin our past tense unit. We will start with a story and practice talking about what we did last week.
