World Language Weekly Update

Week of 5/17-5/21

French 1

In French 1, students finished up their final food project. They shared their project in small groups. Then, students celebrated “La fête des escargots”. In Person students created paper snails and partook in snail races (like at the festival). Virtual students created snails and had a trivia game. Next week, students will watch a French film and review key concepts from the year by describing characters.

French 2

In French 2, students finished up their final travel project. They shared their project in small groups. Then, students celebrated “La fête des escargots”. Students created paper snails and partook in snail races (like at the festival) and learned how to play the traditional game of Pétanque. Next week, students will watch a French film and review some key concepts from the year through summaries and character analysis.

German 1

This week we finished our projects and spoken exams! Next week we will have our Word-Off competition to show off what we have learned.

German 2 (6th hour)

German 2

This week we continued reading our online book “Namika” about Afro-German singer Namika. We will continue our mini grammar review and will continue working with a new topic each week. This week we are reviewing past tense and reflexive verbs. Friday we will continue our Telenovella Nicos Weg.

Spanish 1

This week, students spent the first part of the week reviewing and practicing for our end-of-year writing summative. Students were given 6-7 possible topics to choose from. They were asked to choose three topics to write 5-7 sentences. Next week, we will end the school year by watching the movie Canela. It follows a young girl in Mexico who must work with her grandmother to save her deceased mother’s restaurant and legacy from the modern techniques and recipes of the new chef.
