Hello Summer!
May this last month of school be cherished...

Summer Learning
Writing-Keep a summer journal. Have kids write a few sentences every day with a picture. Have kids write it all down-the boring, the scary, the funny, the mundane--just write.
If they say, "I haven't done anything fun today." Then have them write, "I haven't done anything fun today." Eventually, they'll remember something memorable they did that day to write about. If you need to provide model sentences, feel free, otherwise, remind them to stretch out the sounds that words make. Perfect spelling is not mandatory as long as it's phonetic and they can read it to you. If you want to work on spelling, give 10 spelling words a week that you believe is a just right level for your child.
Math-Flash cards (addition and subtraction); Khan Academy is an excellent free resource as well.
Science-Nature walks--discuss living and nonliving characteristics.
Social Studies-Send a quick postcard to friends and family when traveling.
