A Message from Administration
Greetings DLES Community,
We have had an amazing first week of school. Our students have impressed us with the eagerness to learn and make new friends. We have been able to join classes within the classroom, cafeteria, and out at recess and the laughter of our students is something that just can't be replaced.
We understand the importance of our partnership with you and can tell just how much you value your child(ren) education based on how they came ready to learn. Thank you for supporting our efforts by keeping our main entrance clear during arrival and dismissal.
We do need to ask that you not send your child to school with a soda, energy drink, or any other liquid that is intended to be accessed within the classroom. If you would like to send one of these drinks in your child's lunchbox, they can access this during lunch time. We can only have students drinking water in our classrooms. The reason for this limitation is due to avoiding spills that attract insects and rodents, making our learning space unsanitary. Additionally, we have several students with known allergies and we do not want to increase the chance to an exposure to an allergen. If your child requires a liquid other than water in the classroom, please contact our health room and they will work with you and your child's doctor to devise a health plan that would support such needs.
Proudly Serving You,
Mrs. Caroland, Mrs. Van Osdel, and Mrs. Yerashunas

School Lunches
School Hours
Arrival-doors will open for students at 8:30 AM and the late bell rings at 8:40 AM. Students should be in the building ready for instruction to begin at 8:40 AM. Students that are walkers, bike riders, or car riders should arrive at school NO LATER than 8:38 AM.
Dismissal-for our students who are scheduled to be walkers or car riders, it is important for someone who is meeting them, either by walking or by car, that they are here at 3:10. We have had several students that we have been holding for over 30 minutes until someone arrives. This is not sustainable as staff have other obligations that must be addressed during this time. We encourage you to work with neighbors, friends, or other family members to support this effort.

Title I Benefits Beyond School Lunch/Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS)
Breakfast and lunch are served daily for all students at DLES. Daily meal prices apply to students who do not qualify for free and reduced meals. The cost of lunch is $2.80. Students from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals. Parents/guardians must submit an application every year to maintain their student’s eligibility. All families are asked to use this link to apply. **This application must be completed each year.** Any family who has not filled out an application up to the 30th school day will have their prior status changed to full pay status until a new application is received.
