Happy New Year and welcome back Pershing Families!
We hope you enjoyed a safe, joyful, and restful holiday season. As students return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd, we want to assure you that we remain steadfast in our commitment to the health and well-being of our students, staff, and families. Please keep in mind that we will continue to follow San Antonio Metropolitan Health for COVID guidance.
Second Semester Begins January 3rd
As the second semester approaches, the teachers, administrative team, and staff have a vision for our students. We want ALL the students at Pershing Elementary to become all that they can be. We want them to be successful through good, consistent attendance, perseverance, utilizing help from our faculty, and working diligently. We believe these traits will build good habits that will carry them profitably throughout their life. We expect a great deal from our students because they are so very capable of producing great things!
TIME: 9 a.m.
LOCATION: Alamo Stadium 110 Tuleta Dr., 78212
San Antonio Independent School District, in partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank, is hosting drive-through food distribution events throughout the District to help SAISD families in need.
Distribution is on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.
Contact your school's FACE Specialist, email us at familyengagement@saisd.net, or call us at (210) 554-2205 for more information.
Attendance Matters
Regular and consistent attendance in school is critical to a child's learning and development and may ultimately determine that child's overall success, both in school and in life. Student well-being depends upon students being able to show up when school is in session.
SAISD students from all campuses will have the opportunity to win an entry for their family into a drawing for a car giveaway. The car giveaway is an incentive to encourage all students from all campuses to attend classes every day. This incentive program is based solely on attendance and enrollment. No other factors such as academic performance, student behavior and discipline, or involvement in volunteer or extra-curricular activities will be required or considered in this drawing. By meeting certain attendance metrics outlined below, SAISD students will be able to earn digital ticket(s) for their family/guardian to be entered into a drawing during each 9-weeks grading period. The drawing will be held at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Additional drawings for smaller prizes will be held during the 2022-2023 school year based on digital ticket(s) earned during that 9-week grading period.
