H5P News and Updates
There are two very important aspects to H5P:
- Ease of Use
- Accessiblity
Ease of Use
H5P enables users to create interactive and engaging content. There are over 30 different content types, from digital flashcards, to image hotspots, to interactive videos that allow you to drill down into getting to what students really need to know. View their Examples and Downloads page to see them all.
Accessibility
As you know, accessibility is paramount when engaging a multitude of learners with a variety of knowledge/learning preferences and skills. H5P is constantly updating and improving their content to ensure that their content is accessible to all. Read their September Update Notes to see what updates and improvements they have made to their content types to improve the student learning experience.

Guided Review Sessions Reach Online Students with Zoom
Through Penn State Learning, the Department of Statistics offers free live online peer-tutoring sessions for students enrolled in their World Campus sections of STAT 100 and 200. The tutors are undergraduate students who successfully completed the course themselves and who complete a course related to peer tutoring. All sessions are currently being held using Zoom. For both courses, there are weekly group review sessions, which consist of a prepared PowerPoint presentation with time for questions at the end. For STAT 200 there are also 14 “Q&A” hours each week where students can drop in to ask questions as they are working through their readings or homework assignments. Feedback from students has been overwhelming positive. For more information contact Dr. Whitney Zimmerman, STAT 200 Course Coordinator.
Credo Information Literacy Modules
The University Libraries are looking for general education course instructors and their college learning designers to work with them this fall and spring in piloting Credo Information Literacy modules in Canvas. If you are interested or have other questions, contact Emily Rimland, University Libraries Information Literacy Librarian.
