Dear Families,
Earth Day is today - Friday, April 22, 2022. Each year, our teachers and staff research ways to honor Earth Day across the district. Additionally, the site and district Green Teams coordinate events and share information. While we shine a light on the importance of environmental stewardship during this time of year, it is a core value EUSD supports all year long.
We strive to promote sustainable practices in all aspects of our school system- from district goals, to our facilities, to our education programming and community outreach. We could not do this incredible work without our District Green Team and partnership with BCK Programs.
In our facilities:
Chemical Free Cleaning
Solatubes for daylighting on all campuses
Solar power on all campuses
Waste diversion programs for lunches (SCRAP carts)
Rainwater collection barrels at all sites

Hydration stations
In our educational programming:
School gardens on all campuses

We are proud of the work happening in EUSD and know there is still much to be done. Earth Day/Week is a great opportunity to reflect and support our students in creating a sustainable future. Please watch this amazing video (also linked below) created by our kindergarteners at Capri Elementary and find resources below from BCK programs!
